Overview

Gde̜ngwa Zer Med was founded durring the late 16th century in spring of the year 1555, by Octolaemus Dhozarthin. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Gde̜ngwa Zer Med was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Gde̜ngwa Zer Med is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Gde̜ngwa Zer Med is is constructed arround a series of narrow packed earth mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The city has a set of well fortified walls, with gatehouses, watch towers, battlments, and even a moat, which are fashioned from stone and timber. Gde̜ngwa Zer Med's walls are, howeaver, fashioned from stone and timber. While unorthadox, the design looks to be functional to a reasonable degree. With luck, the untested design will remain untested for years to come. The city's unusual though effective defenses have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the city.

Gde̜ngwa Zer Med seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are reading. The entire city feels like a library, with those not reading remaining quite to not disturb those who have their nose in a book. The longer you remain in Gde̜ngwa Zer Med the more you start to wonder if you’ve entered some strange open-concept University rather than a city, but you can’t quite say such with certainty.

History

Gde̜ngwa Zer Med's residents established a new industry (30128 % 6)+1 years ago, and it’s making them a great deal of profit. Old patterns of authority and wealth are being disrupted, and the old gentry are unlikely to be pleased about it. They may be trying to take over the industry, or they may have been the ones to enable it in the first place and are using it to crush the life out of any rival power bases. Outsiders might be playing a major role as well, and it could be they plot to siphon off the profits.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century a local hero by the name of protected Gde̜ngwa Zer Med's harvest from an army of bandits. One of Gde̜ngwa Zer Med's festivals remembers the hero.
